The USA Rugby League Hawks opened their test series with an impressive 38-18 win over South Africa in Pretoria. This victory showcased the team’s growing strength, as new debutants took the field.

The match was a try-scoring debut for three new players. Andre Williams stole the spotlight with a remarkable hat trick, Daniel Vidot, a former NRL star with 114 professional appearances for clubs like the Brisbane Broncos and Canberra Raiders, also scored in his debut. Finally, Derek Lipscomb rounded off the debutant contributions with a try of his own, solidifying his place as a promising addition to the squad. 

The Hawks' victory marked a significant milestone in their international journey, as they adapted to the high-altitude conditions of Pretoria with determination and grit. Their resilience and ability to adapt to conditions played a vital role in their overall success.

The match will take place at Grizzlies Rugby Club in Pretoria, kicking off at 16:00 local time (6:00 a.m. PST / 9:00 a.m. EST).
